About this micro-credential

On completion of this course, you will have improved your employment opportunities through developing a high impact, job-specific, Curriculum Vitae (CV) and Cover Letter. This course is fully online and self-paced, allowing you to study when it’s convenient for you. As a general guide, we recommend allocating 10 hours to complete this course. Learning materials includes video content, online quizzes, short answers questions and online discussion boards.

This micro-credential has been developed by a team of highly experienced educators, industry experts and skilled professional practitioners including Dr Cherie Hawkins, Dr Ana Lobo, Jennifer Kemp-Smith, Dr Amanda Harper, Associate Professor Andrea Carr, and Netty Gibson. It has been informed by community and industry consultation and draws on contemporary principles and practices.

Dr Cherie Hawkins is the course coordinator of the experiential education team at University College, University of Tasmania. Cherie works across discipline teams, to ensure all programs are practice-based, and include hands-on learning, so there are opportunities for students to develop a range of employability skills. Through the development of these skills, which are highly valued by employers, students are better prepared to follow their personal, academic, and professional goals. Cherie’s main area of expertise is in career development and life aspirations, and she is passionate about programs, projects and activities that enable individuals to build their skills and knowledge through experiential learning. She is currently working with a team on a suite of micro-credentials that enable individuals to develop a range of transferable skills and learn how to apply contemporary approaches and strategies in the workplace.
