The Australian Timber Design Workshop (ATDW) is a two-day intensive professional development opportunity for architects, engineers, builders, and others interested in efficient timber-rich construction to develop their skills and professional networks in a unique, hands-on event.
The ATDW’s program balances presentations from leading timber design specialists and related experts with practical workshop and testing sessions.
The presentation will cover sustainability, design options for timber-rich building and the latest in timber materials, assembly and jointing techniques.
The workshop sessions include structured testing and a fabricate, make and break event using the latest timber products and connection systems. Access to large scale element assembly and testing equipment will be available.
How you will learn
This workshop includes a combination of self-paced online learning, presentations with key industry speakers, and learning-by-making workshop sessions at our facilities at the University of Queensland's St Lucia Campus in Brisbane.
There are no formal assignments required for this course and all participants will receive a Certificate of Attendance. CDP registration with the Australian Institute of Architects and Engineering Australia is being negotiated.
Your access to the learning material will also remain open for 6 months (August 2022).
